NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 30, 2025) – Celebrating the current stars and champions of INDYCAR racing, as well as the history of the sport, the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix presented by WillScot today announced that the legendary cars of Vintage Indy™️will return to Nashville Superspeedway during INDYCAR Championship Weekend, August 30-31. The final race weekend of the 2025 season will not only crown the champions of both the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone, the Labor Day weekend festival will also celebrate over a century of open-wheel racing heritage with a complete fan experience.

For the second consecutive year, Vintage Indy will be featured during the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix presented by WillScot INDYCAR championship weekend at Nashville Superspeedway. Founded in 2016, Vintage Indy is dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of “Indianapolis Championship Cars,” showcasing a stunning collection of vintage INDYCAR vehicles from the early 20th century to the sleek, high-performance machines of the modern era. Fans will have the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with these legendary cars in the infield paddock area where they can learn about the evolution of INDYCAR racing and meet the passionate collectors behind their preservation. It will mark the fourth time that Vintage Indy cars have appeared at the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix presented by WillScot, as the collection of historic race cars was featured at the street circuit in downtown Nashville before the event transitioned to the thrilling Nashville Superspeedway oval in 2024.

“The Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix presented by WillScot is all about celebrating INDYCAR, our series champions and the fans who bring so much passion and energy to our sport,” said Anne Fischgrund, President of the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix presented by WillScot. “From the exciting on-track action to driver autograph sessions, to live music, fireworks and championship celebrations, this Labor Day weekend promises to deliver an unforgettable experience for our fans. We’re also proud to welcome Vintage Indy back to Nashville, celebrating the history and the legacy of INDYCAR racing.”

The action at the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix presented by WillScot gets underway on Saturday, Aug. 30 as the Nashville Superspeedway gates will open at 8 am CT, giving fans the opportunity to watch the opening practice sessions for both INDY NXT by Firestone and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. The rising stars of INDY NXT will be the first on track at 8:05 am CT, followed by INDYCAR at 9:30 am. The energy ramps up when INDY NXT by Firestone drivers will sign autographs for fans from 2:30-4:15 pm CT in the Fan Midway, before the final practice session for INDYCAR, which is scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm.

After the day’s racing action winds down, the fun shifts to the Glade Campground outside Turn 4. From 7:00 to 9:00 pm CT, all race weekend campers are invited to the campground for the inaugural “Saturday Night Pit Stop” featuring tailgate-style games, exclusive tram tours of Nashville Superspeedway, and appearances by select NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone drivers followed by a fireworks display that will light up the sky above Nashville Superspeedway.

The excitement revs up early on Championship Sunday as fans can meet the stars of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES during a full-field autograph session from 9:30-10:15 am CT in the Fan Midway. Then, buckle up for the culmination of the INDY NXT by Firestone season, a 65-lap showdown with the green flag set to wave at 10:35 am CT. The grand finale comes at 1:45 pm CT, when the NTT INDYCAR SERIES takes to the track for 225 laps of high-speed, wheel-to-wheel action on the Nashville Superspeedway oval, where the 2025 champion will be crowned.

Throughout the weekend, the Vintage Indy historic race cars will take to the track in multiple parade lap sessions, offering fans a glimpse of INDYCAR racing’s golden age. Each meticulously restored car represents a chapter in racing history, bringing the past and present of open-wheel racing together at the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix presented by WillScot. With approximately 20 historic Indy cars set to appear on track during the weekend, the collection is expected to include such legendary vehicles as the 1961 Indianapolis 500 Watson Offenhauser Roadster that was driven by Rodger Ward, the 1973 STP/ Patrick Racing Eagle Offenhauser raced by Swede Savage and the 1990 Newman-Haas Racing Kmart Lola Chevrolet, that was driven by Mario Andretti in INDYCAR competition.

Adding to the excitement, all Vintage Indy on-track sessions will be paced by two-time INDYCAR champion and two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser Jr. The vintage cars will first appear on track on Saturday, August 30 at 5:45 pm CT. The final Vintage Indy session will take place on Sunday at 9:30 am CT, helping to set the stage for the INDY NXT by Firestone and NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship races.
